Rechristening
We’ve decided to rename Some Ballyard slightly to Some Clubhouse. The concept behind the name remains the same…a Ruthian sense of awe at the new medium (the Internet) by which we experience our sport. I also like “Some” for its wistfulness as well as its ambiguity: this could be anyplace. It is that question of place that suggests the change. The perspective is not from the field, the stands, or even from within the ballpark. It is more like spectating from the pub, a collective, shared experience of sport. Having done this awhile it dawns on me that the blog has become something of a club, with a delightful cast of characters (i.e., you, dear readers) who come and go and leave something of your grace behind. There are other reasons for the change as well, which I’ll present in coming posts. But for now, welcome to Some Clubhouse.

Thanks, Aubrey, Chris. You were two of the “delightful characters” I was thinking of.
The thing is… I just wish I lived in like the 1950’s or 1970’s so that I could have seen awesome eras of baseball.
